Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information ThumbDL ("we") collects when you use thumbdl.com, and how it is used.

Information you enter

When you paste a YouTube link, video ID or channel handle, it is used only to fetch the requested public information from YouTube (such as a thumbnail, banner, profile picture or tags). We do not store these links or build any history of what you look up. Responses may be briefly cached to keep the site fast.

Images you upload to the thumbnail preview tool are processed entirely in your browser and never sent to our servers.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and understand which pages are useful. It does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites. It collects aggregated data such as the page visited, referrer, country, browser and device type.

Advertising

ThumbDL shows ads provided by Adsterra, a third-party advertising network. Adsterra and its partners may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see them and measure their performance. This may involve collecting your IP address, browser and device information. Their handling of data is governed by Adsterra's privacy policy.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can use an ad blocker, though we'd appreciate you allowing ads on ThumbDL since they keep the tools free.

Local storage

If you dismiss the ad blocker notice, we remember that choice in your browser's local storage for 7 days so it isn't shown again. This value never leaves your device.

Third-party content

Thumbnails, banners, profile pictures and embedded video previews are loaded from YouTube and Google servers, which may receive your IP address and browser information when they load. The embed code generator's preview uses privacy-enhanced mode by default.

Children

ThumbDL is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

Because we don't hold accounts or store the information you enter, we generally have no personal data linked to you. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete data held by the analytics and advertising providers above, which you can exercise through them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
